Winter, who? This week, the best dressed stars on the red carpets and beyond were those who embraced spring silhouettes—choosing pieces that were more light and upbeat. Forget heavy outerwear of bulky layering: Instead, Hollywood’s finest proved they’re ready to show some skin in tasteful ways.
Take Kylie Jenner, who was spotted out and about in Los Angeles with a fresh take on a classic LBD; hers was by Alaïa, and the deep-V frock was finished in a latex-like leather. In New York, Sydney Sweeney attended a 92NY panel in a square-neckline black dress by Shushutong—complete with tasteful lace paneling at the midriff.
It’s not to say the week’s more covered-up dresses didn’t shine. At a Portrait Gallery gala in London, Alexa Chung chose Erdem’s draped-neck;oime floral cocktail dress, while Olivia Colman chose a fringed Taller Marmo caftan dress for a Wicked Little Letters in New York City.
The week’s more casual sightings, meanwhile, had just as much of an impact. In Manhattan, Gisele Bündchen exuded rich mom energy in a denim skirt, turtleneck, and wool overcoat. Also in the city, Taylor Russell chose The Row’s smart button-up shirt, jeans, and pointed boots. It goes to show that you don’t need a full-on ballgown to exude serious style.
