Some new deals just cropped up as part of the Dell Black Friday in July Sale. Right now you can get an Alienware Aurora R16 GeForce RTX 4090 gaming PC for as low as $2999.99. The RTX 4090 is by far the most powerful GPU you can get, and you’ll be able to comfortably run any game you want at 4K resolution with high frame rates and ray tracing turned enabled.

This config features an Intel Core i9-14900KF CPU, GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, 32GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 2TB NVMe SSD. The i9-14900KF CPU boasts a max clock of 6GHz with 24 cores, 32 threads, and a 36MB cache. Gaming-wise the Intel Core i7 and i9 perform similarly. However, if you plan to use your rig for rendering or AI work that can utilize the greater number of cores, then the i9 would be a better fit, especially since it also includes more RAM and SSD, which you would also need. It’s cooled by a 240mm all-in-one liquid cooling system and powered by an energy efficient 1000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.

Speaking of the chassis, the R16 is the newest Alienware Aurora gaming chassis, and it’s the biggest departure from Alienware’s iconic design in years. The R16 is 40% smaller in volume compared to previous iterations but has better thermal management. It features a simple yet proven airflow design; air is drawn in through the side intake vents over the GPU area as well as a 120mm rear fan drawing air in and a 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler exhausts air out through the top. A side benefit is that the GPU is supplied with fresh air from the outside instead of recirculating hot internal air.

The RTX 4090 is the most powerful GPU on the market. No other video card, either from NVIDIA or from AMD, comes close. As a reference, the RTX 4090 is about 110% faster at 4K gaming than the already impressive RTX 3080. It’s about 60% faster than the previous king, the RTX 3090 Ti. If you’re still not convinced, check out our RTX 4090 FE review. The 4090 is also the consumer card of choice for stuff like machine learning or AI image generation apps like Stable Diffusion.

Why Pick a Dell or Alienware Gaming PC?

Not everyone is the DIY type, and these days prebuilt gaming PC aren’t that much more expensive than building your own computer. In fact, depending on the demand of certain components like the GPU, it might even be cheaper. The Alienware Aurora R16 is one of our picks for best prebuilt gaming PCs of 2024. Alienware gaming laptops and desktops offer a staggering array of options, all built into a custom chassis that’s both easy on the eyes and easy on the wallet. The newest Alienware gaming PCs have significantly improved their cooling performance, especially when paired with a liquid cooling solution. Alienware gaming laptops in recent years have been redesigned to be thinner and lighter while still offering the same immense power under the hood. Consistent build quality, available inventory, frequent sales, and solid customer service are the main reasons why Dell is at the top of our buying list.
