Despite GTA 6’s trailer having already garnered over 100 million views on YouTube and amassing plenty of excitement, it appears some well-known gamers haven’t been particularly taken by the likely gameplay features. Elon Musk, the world’s richest gamer, is unlikely going to be playing GTA 6 in the future after struggling with the moral choices to be made in GTA 5.

While much of the gaming world is celebrating the fact that Grand Theft Auto VI now has an official trailer to watch, it seems that not all gamers are as excited about the matter as others have been. In particular, the chief of Tesla, SpaceX, and X (formerly Twitter), better known as Elon Musk, has already shown the likelihood of any long GTA 6 sessions being streamed by him in the future – basically zero.

Responding to a post from an X employee stating that they had not played any of the Grand Theft Auto games, from 1 to 5 (and obviously including GTA 6), Musk said: “Tried, but didn’t like doing crime. GTA 5 required shooting police officers in the opening scene. Just couldn’t do it.” In the prologue section of GTA 5 (available on Amazon), Trevor fights the North Yankton police department as part of the mission. But apparently, Musk just did not want to see cops being fired upon, even in a video game.

Unsurprisingly, this post from Musk has been met with plenty of ridicule from X users, many who have reminded the South African/Canadian/American billionaire that it’s just a game and nobody is really getting harmed, although there have been a considerable number of supporters in regard to Musk’s moral code in this instance too. It appears that GTA 6 won’t be joining Musk’s list of favorite games, which includes Overwatch and Polytopia, any time after its release (expected 2025).

Tried, but didn’t like doing crime. GTA5 required shooting police officers in the opening scene. Just couldn’t do it.
