Jason Kelce is expressing remorse for slamming a Pennsylvania State University student’s phone to the ground after the heckler dissed his brother, Travis Kelce, for dating Taylor Swift.
“Listen, I’m not happy with anything that took place. I’m not proud of it,” Jason said during ESPN’s pre-game show Monday evening before Travis and his Kansas City Chiefs teammates took on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Arrowhead Stadium.
“In a heated moment, I chose to greet hate with hate, and I just don’t think that that’s a productive thing. I really don’t. I don’t think that it leads to discourse and is the right way to go about things.”
The NFL star-turned-commentator, 36, admitted that he “fell down to a level that [he] shouldn’t have.”
“The bottom line is … I try to live my life by the Golden Rule. That’s what I’ve always been taught,” he continued.
“I try to treat people with common decency and respect, and I’m gonna keep doing that moving forward, even though I fell short this week. I’m gonna do that moving forward and continue to do that.”
The tense moment between Jason — who was at Penn State for ESPN’s “College GameDay” over the weekend — and the student was caught on camera and quickly went viral.
“Kelce, how does it feel that your brother is a f—-t for dating Taylor Swift?” the troll could be heard shouting at Jason in the background of several videos shared on social media.
The retired Philadelphia Eagles center immediately turned around, grabbed the guy’s phone and smashed it on the street before picking it up and walking away as the student demanded that Jason return it.
In another video of the incident, the former athlete then thrice asked the harasser, “Who’s the f—-t now?”
Penn State University Police and Public Safety is investigating the incident, Page Six was previously told.
Reps for Jason — who has always supported 35-year-old Travis’ relationship with pop superstar Swift — never responded to our request for comment.
