Golden Globes 2024 Red Carpet Live: See Every Look, Dress and Outfit Now

The 81st annual Golden Globes took place last night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, hosted by comedian Jo Koy. The night, which honors achievements in both film and television, kicked off a much-awaited awards season—and the spectacular fashion that comes with it.

Barbie and Succession led the night with nine nominations each, with Oppenheimer coming in second with eight nods. Other major players of the night include Killers of the Flower Moon, Poor Things, Past Lives, and The Bear. (The full list of nominees can be viewed here.) This is the first ceremony since the disbandment of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association last year. The Globes also made history last night with the inclusion of a brand new category: Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. As the name suggests, this new award honors high-grossing films—some of which would otherwise not receive these prestigious nods. While Barbenheimer obviously carried movie theaters through the summer, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, John Wick: Chapter 4, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie make up the inaugural class of nominees.

The Golden Globes red carpet has also been the scene of many a fashion moment over the years, from Julia Roberts’s pinstriped skirt suit in 1991, to Nicole Kidman’s peacock feathered Gucci dress in 2005, and Natalie Portman’s rose embellished Viktor & Rolf in 2011. Last year’s highlights included Jessica Chastain’s crystal spiderweb dress from Oscar de la Renta, Rihanna in a voluminous Schiaparelli, Hillary Swank’s Prada maternity look, and Emma D’Arcy’s suiting from Acne Studios.
