A new leak has now revealed alleged information on the battery capacities of three of the upcoming iPhone 16 lineup phones: the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Two of the devices are reported to get battery upgrades, but the third device apparently does the reverse.
The launch of the iPhone 16 series may still be over half a year away but details of the phones have already begun to surface in the wild. A previous leak tipped a return to an iPhone 12-esque rear camera design for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, and a new leak now purports to reveal battery information for three of the iPhone 16 series phones.
As revealed by leaker Majin Bu, the standard iPhone 16 is seemingly set for a slight increase in its battery capacity, compared to the iPhone 15. Reportedly, the iPhone 16 will feature a 3561 mAh battery, about 5% larger than the 3349 mAh unit on the vanilla iPhone 15. It’s a similar story with the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which is said to be equipped with a 4676 mAh unit, up from the 4441 mAh battery on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The reverse looks to be the case for the iPhone 16 Plus, however. The source claims the larger non-Pro model will arrive with a 4006 mAh battery, a notable drop from the 4383 mAh unit that powers the iPhone 15 Plus. Supposedly, that drop in battery capacity can be chalked up to the iPhone 16 Plus using a less powerful chipset than the Pro models, hence lower power requirements. The leak fails to provide information on the iPhone 16 Pro, sadly.
It makes sense because the phone is less powerful than the pro models so it consumes less

Based on the information I managed to obtain, the new iPhone 16 will have a 3561 mAh battery, while the 16 plus should have a 4006 mAh battery and the 16 Pro Max, should be equipped with a 4676 mAh battery that is no longer L-shaped due to the redesign of the internal structure… pic.twitter.com/T7VuhQ6Brs
