An intriguing subject that persists in Hollywood conversations and certainly isn’t about Traylor? Indeed, it’s Ozempic.
Initially created for Type 2 diabetes therapy, Ozempic—also known as semaglutide, a medication approved by the FDA in 2017 for injection—is now becoming popularized as a weight reduction trend. As with previous health crazes, it’s igniting discussions online, further fueled when the FDA noted a supply shortfall last August, likely resulting from a surge in demand.
As Variety reported in September, numerous celebrities have adopted the insulin medication for rapid weight shedding, but many accused of taking it have swiftly refuted such claims. Meanwhile, Amy Schumer, who experimented with Ozempic previously, is forthcoming about its use and criticizes those in the entertainment industry for not acknowledging their usage.
Of course, some celebrities have indeed narrated their journeys with the medication, including Chelsea Handler and The Real Housewives of New Jersey‘s Dolores Catania. Conversely, personalities like Khloe Kardashian and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Kyle Richards have emphatically refuted speculations that they are utilizing Ozempic.
A spokesperson for Novo Nordisk, the manufacturer of Ozempic, stated to E! News that Ozempic is “not authorized for chronic weight regulation.” The firm emphasizes that Ozempic aims to manage type 2 diabetes, improve glycemic control, and decrease the chance of significant cardiovascular occurrences in afflicted adults.

Open about her own surgical history, Schumer added, “Be upfront with folks. When I received liposuction, I admitted it.”
She divulged having had an immediate attachment to Ozempic the previous year, yet found its use unsustainable, as it interfered with her ability to bond with her 4-year-old offspring Gene.
“I was one of those affected by illness and unable to engage with my child,” Schumer reminisced. “I had become so svelte, he’s tossing a ball to me and I couldn’t participate.”

On an April 5, 2023 Instagram Story, she rebroadcast a tweet from author Sophie Vershbow which asserted, “The Ozempic promotions strewn across the Times Square subway station can f–k straight off.” Highlighted in Vershbow’s tweet were ads proclaiming, “One injection for weight reduction,” and another with a similar message, “A weekly shot for shedding pounds.”
Turner augmented with her remark, writing, “WTF.”
Norwegian pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk previously told E! News that the medication isn’t sanctioned by the FDA for chronic weight management purposes.

For the humorist, Ozempic is a serious subject. Handler disclosed how her “anti-aging doctor” prescribed the drug to her unknowingly.
“I had no clue I was taking it,” she mentioned during the Jan. 25, 2023, episode of Call Her Daddy. “She mentioned, ‘This is beneficial if you’re looking to shed a few pounds.'”
Although she attempted the medication, Handler emphasized her dislike for the sensations it provoked.
“I returned from a trip and injected myself with it,” she recounted. “A couple of days later, I met with a friend for lunch, and she commented, ‘I can hardly eat anything. I’m feeling nauseous because I’m on Ozempic.’ And I was thinking, ‘I too am experiencing nausea.’ But I had just come from Spain and was suffering from jet lag.”
In the end, Handler ceased using the medication because it wasn’t essential for her health, mentioning that she passed on the rest of her supply to friends.
“I’ve administered Ozempic to about four or five of my friends, as I came to realize I had no desire to use it because it was excessive,” she stated. “I have people over at my house, and I’m like, ‘Alright, I can fit you in at 1, you at 2.'”

KoKo counterattacked when Instagram users hypothesized that she was utilizing Ozempic.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills celebrity candidly addressed speculation that she was on the drug after her social media followers noted her recent slimming.
Richards replied to a commenter underneath a Jan. 5, 2023, photo on Instagram after an exercise session with friends, saying, “I am NOT on ozempic.” She also conveyed in an additional comment, “Never have I ever been on it.”
Richards would go on to reaffirm her stance, underscoring “I am NOT on” the medication in a Jan. 16 Instagram reply to a post by Page Six.

After her admirers speculated on her potential use of Ozempic, Simpson clarified the truth.
“Goodness me,” she expressed to Bustle in an interview published on July 6, 2023. “Certainly, it’s not [Ozempic], it is my self-discipline. It’s like, do individuals wish for me to start drinking once more? That’s when I was more substantial. Or do they prefer me pregnant again? My physique isn’t up for it.”

About her 30-pound weight reduction due to Semaglutide—the generic equivalent of the weight-management drug—the Shahs of Sunset celebrity stated, “Clearly, I didn’t possess this appearance two months prior. Thus, I would be engaging in dishonesty if I were to claim I ceased drinking and all of a sudden began intense workouts like some propose.”
Gharachedaghi continued by mentioning she still experiences hunger, remarking, “I’m a bit peckish. Look, I’m going to enjoy a little cannabis and definitely eat something.”

The content creator expressed that the utilization of Ozempic for managing her type 2 diabetes compromised her general well-being.

I anticipated that the moment I stopped, I’d become ravenous again.’ And that’s what happened, leading to an aggravation of my binging behavior. Hence, I partly hold Ozempic to blame.”

Disregarding the typical wedding-preparation weight loss conventions, The Real Housewives of New Jersey ensemble member conceded her Ozempic consumption in anticipation of the season 13 reunion shooting.
During the April 4, 2023 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Catania verified her use of the glucose-lowering drug, stating her reluctance to “appear larger than anyone else” during the recording, and described, “So I jumped on the bandwagon.” She humorously remarked that “none” of her castmates were refraining from Ozempic, adding the sole side effect she encountered was a lack of appetite.

Gracie provided a health update in a June 5 post, responding to a critic’s comment about her alleged intake of Type 2 diabetes medication.
“Indeed, I did use Ozempic last year,” she confirmed. “Currently, I’m on a reduced dose of Mounjaro for my PCOS and am also exercising. There’s no need for allegations when I’ve been transparent about it.”
