Obliterated Could Return for a Second Season in a New Location

Date:

If you’ve ever asked yourself “what if The Hangover were an action movie?”, Obliterated is here to give you an answer. The Netflix Original Series follows an elite team of U.S. armed forces specialists who thwart a terrorist threat in Las Vegas, and proceed to celebrate with a wild night of drinking, drugs, and sex… only to discover that the real bomb is still out there, and they must work through their intoxicated states to save the day.

The show stars Nick Zano as Chad, Shelley Hennig as Ava, Eugene Kim as Paul, Kimi Rutledge as Maya, Paola Lázaro as Angela, C. Thomas Howell as Hagarty, and Carl Lumbly, most recently seen in The Fall of the House of Usher, as CIA Director Langdon.

Obliterated is the brainchild of Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald, the team behind Karate Kid spinoff and ’80s nostalgia-fest Cobra Kai. This time around, they’re indulging their love for ’90s action flicks, with outsized fight scenes and a hell of a lot of explosions.

While Season 1 of Obliterated ends with the team successful in their mission to beat the bad guys, leaving them just a hangover to deal with, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the end of the road for Ava, Chad, and their mismatched crew of badasses.

Will Obliterated return for a second season?

There’s no word yet from Netflix as to whether the series is being renewed, however series creators Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg are already dreaming up their ideal locations for Season 2.

“If there’s a demand for it, we’re certainly going to be looking for that next party city where our team could get into mischief and have another adventure,” Hurwitz told Inverse.

“It’s the White Lotus of action comedies,” Schlossberg added. “So we’re looking at Ibiza, Miami, Rio, Cabo. They should be courting us.”
