Zack Snyder is best known for his time as the go-to director for the DC superhero world, and his storied career includes picks like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and the infamous Justice League and the legendary Synder Cut that became Zack Snyder’s Justice League. And of course, Snyder’s pre-DC career included classics including Dawn of the Dead and 300.
Now, the director is back with another movie series that takes his signature action sequences and intricate storytelling into a whole new world. Rebel Moon tells the story of Kora, a former member of the Imperium, the army of the Motherworld controlled by the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, who decides to recruit other warriors to take a stand against the Motherworld (Basically, think the Rebels taking on the Evil Empire in Star Wars).
The movie takes inspiration from other epics and sagas like Star Wars (of course), along with Days of Heaven, Seven Samurai, and the science fiction and fantasy comics magazine Heavy Metal. Snyder also co-wrote the screenplay. “You crack open the earth and you start digging,” he told us earlier this month. “And I think that this movie, I was mining the stuff that I really love. It’s a love letter to the movies that made me love movies.”
The first part of the story, Part One: A Child of Fire was just released on Netflix, but since the film let off on a bit of a cliffhanger, fans are wondering when they’ll get to see the rest of the story. Here’s everything we know about the second part of the Rebel Moon movie series.
When will Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver premiere?
Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver will premiere on April 19, 2024. The release date was announced before Part One was even released, which was great for fans, as they wouldn’t have to wonder about when next they would see Kora and the gang.
What will Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver be about?
Part Two will continue telling the story of Kora and the band of warrior’s fight for freedom against the Motherworld.
Who will be in the cast of the Rebel Moon part two?
We can expect most of the cast and characters to return. The ensemble includes Sofia Boutella as Kora, Djimon Hounsou as Titus, Charlie Hunnam as Kai, Michiel Huisman as Gunnar, Staz Nair as Tarak, Doona Bae as Nemesis, and Anthony Hopkins as the voice of Jimmy.
