Just like all other live service games, Fortnite also experiences a downtime where the servers are taken down for maintenance. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Live service games like Fortnite require regular maintenance. To conduct this, the developers usually take the servers offline for a specific duration of time. The time for which these servers are down is referred to as the downtime.

That said, other than these periodic maintenance, there are rare instances of server outages as well. This article will help you figure out if the Fortnite servers are down due to an ongoing downtime.

Are Fortnite servers down right now?

The Fortnite servers are currently up and running. Considering that there’s no ongoing update either, there aren’t any questions about the servers being down for now.

There have been a few instances of players not being able to log into the game over the past few weeks. While Epic Games has addressed the issue, we’ll update this section if the servers go down again.

Fortnite downtime and server status

Considering that there isn’t any ongoing maintenance, there is no Fortnite downtime either. At the time of writing this article, the Fortnite servers are up and running. There is however, a patch which is scheduled to go live in the next week or so.

You can expect a downtime when the next patch for Chapter 5 Season 1 is set to go live. Before the downtime happens, Epic Games will send out a tweet informing everyone about the same. So keep following their official Twitter/X handles for information about the same.

How to check if the Fortnite servers are down

If you’re unable to log into the game, but you’re able to access other services on the internet, then there’s a chance that the Fortnite servers are down. However, if you need accurate information, head over to the Fortnite Status Twitter/X page.

Whenever there’s a downtime or the Fortnite servers are down due to some issues, the developers tweet from the said profile. In case there’s no tweet, but you still cannot access the game, there’s a chance there’s something wrong with your network or system.
