With the arrival of conference play, we will project the field of 68 every Tuesday and Friday from now until Selection Sunday on March 17. Albany, New York, and Portland, Oregon, will host the regionals, as the two-site format remains for a second consecutive year. It all culminates in Cleveland at the Final Four on April 5 and 7.
Bracket Watch
Welcome back to the No. 1 club, Colorado. Following NC State’s stunning loss at Miami on Thursday, the Buffs are back on the top line. Colorado is the 10th team to be a No. 1 seed at some point this season, emphasizing yet again the roller coaster 2023-24 has been. Colorado joins Iowa as the only teams to lose their No. 1 seeds and regain them. The Buffs grabbed a top seed in the third week of the season but were blown out by NC State within a week. The Hawkeyes regained their No. 1 seed one week after losing it and have now been back as a 1-seed for 10 weeks. South Carolina rose to the top in the season’s second week and has not relinquished the No. 1 overall seed since. The Gamecocks remain the steadiest and best team in the country, much like they were a year ago.
