This Workout Plan Is Designed to Build Your Superhero Chest

A BIG CHEST is the anchor of a well-developed torso and plays an underrated role in helping you maintain the V-taper shape that’s synonymous with great bodybuilding physiques and comic book heroes.

But the key is that your chest shouldn’t just be big. It needs to be well-balanced, with depth inside. And it needs to be complemented by strong back and shoulder muscle, both of which you’ll subtly work toward in this program.

The Chisel Your Chest plan is the starting point for guys who want to build the same type of guys who want to build up to a superheroic profile. That’s how I designed it—as a starting point for strength and muscle growth.

The program offers enough space for you to directly attack your chest while still building the rest of your body so your overall physique stays in balance. It also avoids a lot of the mistakes I made when I started in the gym. I always wanted a big bench press and comic book level chest, so initially, I just did bench press three days a week.

Not only was that unsustainable, but it opened the door for injuries and imbalances that eventually needed time and smarter training to correct. This program is smarter—but it’ll still definitely grow your chest the way you want, building symmetry through your entire torso.

You’ll do that over the four week plan, working out four or five days per week, depending on what you choose.

Men’s Health

This is exactly what a workout looks like in the program.

This gym-based program is designed using four key principles. Progressive overload, which is essential for any exercise plan; balance, with plenty of posterior muscle training; plenty of rest, and using tempo as a key tool so that you can make the most out of every rep.

All the said, the focus is still on the chest. You’ll press and fly your way to superhero status—all you have to do is work hard and follow the plan. Want to try the program? You’ll need to become a Men’s Health MVP member for all the details.
