Travis Kelce Responds to Rumor He’ll Propose to Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl

TRAVIS KELCE IS currently in training ahead of Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday night, where he hopes to secure his third victory with the Kansas City Chiefs. But in the lead-up to the championship game against the San Francisco 49ers, the tight end is also fielding rumors that he plans to ask his girlfriend, pop star Taylor Swift, to marry him if he and his team win.

While neither the NFL star nor Swift have given any indication that this will happen, it hasn’t stopped fans placing bets—prompting Kelce to address the speculation.

“Is there going to be another ring besides the Super Bowl ring if you win this thing on Sunday?” a reporter asked him at a press conference recently, to which Kelce simply responded: “I’m focused on getting this ring, and that’s all that my mind’s focused on right now.”

While Kelce and Swift’s relationship seems to be going from strength to strength privately, they’re making fewer public appearances together right now due to each of their respective busy schedules. Kelce was unable to accompany Swift to Sunday night’s Grammys, which saw her win her fourth Album of the Year award for Midnights, due to his intense training schedule with the Chiefs ahead of the big game.

After the awards, Swift immediately traveled to Japan to kick off the latest leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour—and her performing schedule means she might not make it to Vegas in time to cheer Kelce on during the Super Bowl.

“The Super Bowl, we’ll worry about if she can make it,” Kelce told reporters. So it looks like the chances of a post-game engagement are pretty low—although there are also rumors of a planned proposal later this year.

“Taylor and Travis discussed it and there is a plan,” a source reportedly told Page Six. “They will get engaged on their one-year anniversary in July.”
