The Oscars Are Airing Earlier Than Ever This Year

Date:

preview for What to Know About the 2024 Oscars

FOR FILM FANS, few events are more exciting than The Oscars. From the red carpet to the nerve-wracking lead-up to the Best Picture winner, it’s a night to remember. You don’t want to miss which films will be solidified in history as the best of the year. And 2023, especially is a year worth celebrating.

Barbie, Oppenheimer, Killers of the Flower Moon, Poor Things, The Holdovers, and many, many other films blew audiences away. While some films are all but confirmed to win (Oppenheimer snagging Best Picture is probably a sure thing), other award categories aren’t as definite. Best Actress is a toss up between Lily Gladstone and Emma Stone, who had unforgettable and commendable performances in Killers of the Flower Moon and Poor Things, respectively. Gladstone has already made history as the first Native American actress to get a Best Actress nomination, and would achieve another milestone if she actually wins the award. You really won’t want to miss this one.

But finding a way to watch may be difficult if you’re a cord cutter without cable. And this year, even viewers with a regular cable package may accidentally miss the event if they’re not paying careful attention to the date and time. Make sure you don’t miss a single moment, like host Jimmy Kimmel’s opening monologue, or speeches from the winners. If you have a question about The Oscars leading up to the event, we’ve got answers.
