Sharp Gaming is a technology developer focusing on the gambling sector which launched seven years ago. Since then, the developer has benefitted from more than £100 million ($125.2 million) in funding from Betfred’s chairman, Fred Done, culminating with the absorption of Sharp Gaming by Betfred. The strategic migration was completed last week and as a result, Sharp Gaming transitioned to rebrand itself as Betfred Technology.
This milestone achievement represented years of hard work and dedication of the team of experts at the developer formerly known as Sharp Gaming. Now, by transitioning to Betfred, the company will continue to bring revolutionary technology, solutions and products. As a result, Betfred’s sportsbook, RGS, gaming aggregation and player account management will be supercharged by Betfred Technology.
Part of the transition sees Sharp Gaming’s founder, Andrew Daniels, take on the role of chief information officer with Betfred Group. In a recent post via LinkedIn, the executive shared his excitement about the latest milestone. “Fred has invested over £100 million in the build, which was a much bigger and more complex job than I ever thought possible. However, all the hard work was worth it on Grand National Day, which we sailed through,” explained Daniels.
“As we embark on this new chapter for Betfred, we also bid farewell to the name Sharp Gaming. Effective today, Sharp Gaming is transitioning into Betfred’s Technology department, a move that aligns with our evolving role and responsibilities.“
