END-OF-SEASON sales are in full swing, and while brands like Apple seldom participate in such savings, Amazon continues to come in clutch with deals on top Apple devices. Right now, every single Apple Watch model is on sale for up to 25 percent off, making it one of the best times of year to shop the wearables.
In a rare moment (we’ve only seen it once before), even the Apple Watch Ultra 2, our top fitness tracker for iPhone users, is $100 off. I had to refresh the page a couple of times to make sure I wasn’t seeing things. I mean, the only other time the price dropped this low was Prime Day, so seeing a steep price cut like this again felt almost too good to be true.
You know what means: Odds are, these deals won’t last long, so if you’ve been eyeing one of these Apple Watches, you’ll want to strike while the iron’s hot. Let’s break down each model.
The Ultra 2 is Apple’s top-of-the-line model, with technology the rest of the lineup simply can’t keep up with. The watch has up to 36 hours of battery life (it will last up to 72 hours on low power mode)—the most of any model. At 49mm, the screen is large, and the brightness goes up to 3,000 nits. While other models are water-resistant up to 50 meters, the Ultra 2 is water-resistant up to 100 meters. Plus, built-in compass, altimeter, and water temperature sensors let you take your watch on every adventure you have planned. You’ll, of course, get the standard safety features (Emergency SOS and Crash and Fall Detection), activity tracking, sleep, heart rate, and blood oxygen monitors, an ECG, and temperature sensing. So all in all, it’s a great watch for anyone who loves the outdoors.
Apple Watch Series 9
A step down from the Ultra 2, but the most recent watch dropped by Apple, the Series 9 offers a lot of tech upgrades at a reasonable price. The watch introduced Double Tap, a feature that literally lets you control your wearable with just your fingertips: Tap to snooze alarms, answer and end calls, and more. You’ll also find classic features (activity tracking, heart rate and sleep monitors, a temperature sensor, and a blood oxygen monitor) packed into the device. All of the updates are thanks to the S9 SiP, the watch’s new internal processor, which makes it brighter, faster, and an all-around smarter, more capable device.
Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen)
Even though a handful of other models are on sale, you don’t want to overlook the Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen). Sure, it’s a baseline pick, but for less than $200, you’re getting all of the standard wearable features at an unbeatable price. It lacks an ECG, temperature sensor, and blood oxygen monitoring, but it’s still impressive with up to 18 hours of battery life, a sleep monitor, activity tracking (including heart rate zones), and more. When I dropped my Series 5 and shattered the screen, the SE (2nd Gen) was the only Apple Watch I considered, and I’ve never looked back. The cellular model is also on sale for $240.
Apple Watch Series 8
While I can’t say it’s a surprise to see an older model like this Series 8 on sale, this is one of the steepest price cuts dollars-wise. It was the model that launched Apple’s wearables with blood oxygen monitoring and a temperature sensor, while keeping an ECG and more standard features. The device has up to 18 hours of battery life, and the on-sale model is a GPS+Cellular pick, so you can stay connected even if your iPhone isn’t on you. I could go on and on about how much I love having a cellular model Apple Watch. It means being totally hands-free on runs, errands, and beyond.
