If you’ve yet to stumble upon the @youbelonginthis Instagram page, allow me to introduce you to it: A Taylor Swift fan has created a whole account dedicated to Photoshopping wild and wonderful statement outfits onto the singer. (“Swiftie re-styling” is the page’s slogan.) On the feed are a bevy of runway looks that this mysterious fan envisions Swift wearing—including Schiaparelli gowns, Loewe dresses, and Tory Burch tailoring. And while it may all seem like harmless innocent fun, there may be more to this fan-led styling movement than meets the eye—mainly because Swift just wore an ensemble that was Photoshopped onto her back in March.
Spotted out in London on Monday night, Swift—who threw a party for her Eras Tour staff—emerged wearing a plaid Vivienne Westwood skirt suit, complete with a white ruffle shirt. Turns out, this exact look was pasted onto Swift on @youbelonginthis back in March—and fans think this is evidence that Swift may be secretly following the account. (We wonder what Swift’s burner account is called.) “Is Taylor lurking on this page,” one fan commented on the original post, while another wrote, “She’s stalking you for sure.”
It is a pretty crazy coincidence. Do you think Swift just so happens to be going through a Vivienne Westwood phase, or is she’s actually looking to fans for styling inspo? Or perhaps this is the the doing of her longtime stylist, Joseph Cassell Falconer. Whatever it may be, we’ll let the die-hard Swifties continue to speculate amongst themselves. But if she is indeed following the account, we’re in for a fun fashion ride; We hope she wears this Dilara Findikoglu Union Jack dress next!
