2024 college football win total predictions, futures odds: Expert locks in over/under picks, bets

Date:

The 2024 college football schedule kicks off on Saturday, Aug. 24 when Florida State takes on Georgia Tech in the annual College Football Classic at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland. The Seminoles, who are coming off a perfect 12-0 regular season record in 2023, have high hopes for the 2024 season, and currently have a projected regular season win total of 9.5 games. The Yellow Jackets are on the other end of the spectrum with a projected regular season win total of five games. Should you target either team’s win total when making your 2024 college football futures bets?

With all of the conference realignment during the offseason, there are several other teams that have intriguing win total projections heading into the 2024 season. Among the most notable are Texas (over/under 10.5 wins) and Oklahoma (over/under 7.5 wins), who joined the SEC, and Oregon (over/under 10.5 wins) and USC (over/under 7 wins), who joined the Big Ten. Should any of them be included in your 2024 college football futures picks and predictions? Before making any college football win total picks or bets, you need to see the college football predictions and betting advice from SportsLine’s Jimmie Kaylor.

Now, Kaylor has broken down the 2024 college football futures odds from every possible angle and revealed his top win total predictions and best bets. You can only see his picks and analysis at SportsLine.

Top 2024 college football win total predictions

One of Kaylor’s top college football win predictions: Colorado to go Over 5.5 regular season wins. The Buffs’ biggest issues in 2023 were on the offensive and defensive lines, and Coach Prime and his staff addressed both during the offseason. Colorado will have an entirely new starting offensive line, which will be headlined by true freshman Jordan Seaton, who is expected to be the team’s starting left tackle when they open their season against North Dakota State on Aug. 29. On the defensive line, Arizona State transfer BJ Green is expected to make an immediate impact.

The Buffs should also benefit from the move to the Big 12. In Sanders’ first year on the job, the Pac-12 was particularly strong and Colorado played one of the most difficult schedules in the country. With Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter still in the mix, CU should be much more competitive within their conference in 2024. “Shedeur Sanders has a legitimate point in saying CU will get their opponents’ best shot most weeks, so I’m not on board with the Buffs contending in the Big 12 like some. There are a couple of swing games mixed in that could drastically change things, but I do expect CU to hit six wins and reach bowl eligibility in year two under Coach Prime,” Kaylor told SportsLine. You can see Kaylor’s other win total bets here.
