Last year, we were all about the strawberry—but this summer, it’s the pomegranate. From a glossy, clear hue on our nails to an off-duty fashion choice, we can’t escape the deep red-pink color, nor do we want to. And in a summer that’s particularly obsessed with blush (just look to Rhode’s collection of pocket-sized shades and early summer’s fancy application technique of sunset blush), of course it’s moved to the cheeks, too.

To get the look right, focus on the finish. You’ll want something dewy, starting with the base (i.e. sunscreen). Bloomeffect’s Tulip Dew Sunscreen Serum SPF 50 mineral formula not only protects against UVA, UVB, pollution, blue light, and free radicals—it’s also made with mica to give skin a subtle, spa-like glow. From there, adding an equally-glossy pomegranate shade to lips and cheeks (something only achievable in cream or liquid formulas) is all you need to finish the look. We like the AboutFace Blush Balm in shade Get Some and the Milk Makeup Cooling Water Jelly Tint Lip + Cheek Blush Stain.
