Rocky Schrecengost’s “Mud Pups’ Adventures” Will Share a Puppy Adventure Story at the 2024 Printers Row Lit Fest

The self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet will display the childrens book by Rocky Schrecengost, Mud Pups Adventures Vol. 1, at the 2024 Printers Row Lit Fest. The book event will take place on September 7-8, 2024, at Printers Row Park, 620 S Dearborn St (Ida B Wells & Polk), Chicago, Illinois.

Presented by the not-for-profit Near South Planning Board, the Printers Row Lit Fest is the largest free outdoor literary event in the Midwest, attracting an annual crowd of 100,000. This two-day open-air festival is attended by 100-plus booksellers displaying different types and genres of books and 200-plus authors participating in panels, discussions, and other programs that should whet booklovers appetite for literature. This community-based celebration allows authors and publishing companies to showcase their works and products to a wide and diverse audience.

Mud Pups Adventures follows the tale of five homeless puppies that find a home filled with love and adventure. These puppies are very special because they have a unique way of getting around mud tires. Red, a man who lives in a little house down the hill, regularly feeds the animals around the area. One day, he discovers that he has new friends in the form of the special puppies with mud tires.

This book is aimed at children who love pets and have a strong sense of wonder. The story will help bring a bond between the young readers and the parents. The colorfully illustrated book will also help engage the young learners in the story as they try to imagine how the tales of the puppies go.

The author, Rocky Schrecengost, passed away in August 2024. His wife, Kitty, will continue his legacy.

Authors Biography:
Throughout his school years, the only class in which Rocky consistently earned straight As was Art. He worked in the Texas oil fields for 37 years, starting at the age of 17. In his spare time, he took on remodeling projects and painted signs for friends who owned local businesses. Rocky enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was an avid NASCAR fan, with favorite drivers including Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt, and Kevin Harvick. He had a passion for listening to 70s music and loved watching children and pets play together.

The idea of mud pups came to him while riding four-wheelers and watching dogs either ride along with their owners or chase after them. This sparked his imagination, leading him to wonder how he could combine two beloved childrens favoritespets and four-wheelers. This inspiration led him to start writing and drawing.
