CrazyGames, a browser-based online gaming platform with 35 million monthly active users, announced that Struckd from Unity, a tool for user-generated content, will join its flagship line, CrazyGames Originals.
Struckd is an innovative game development app that enables anyone to easily create, share, and play their games with no coding needed. This collaboration ushers in a new way for anyone with an idea to explore game development underpinned by Unity’s flexible development platform.
Struckd from Unity harnesses the power of Unity 6, the best version of Unity launching next month, providing a simplified drag-and-drop interface that makes game development accessible to everyone, from beginners to experienced developers. With an extensive library of assets and templates, users can create and share their games instantly with a global audience on CrazyGames.
“We are thrilled to introduce Struckd from Unity to our CrazyGames community,” said Rafael Morgan, vice president of marketing and partnerships at CrazyGames, in a statement. “With a growing community of creators on the web, UGC games mark a new frontier in game development, democratizing co-creation of digital content. Unity said the key features include a user-friendly interface: Struckd’s intuitive drag-and-drop editor requires no prior coding experience, making game creation accessible.
“We stay committed to our mission to democratize game development,” said Daniel Reichert, director of product development at Unity, in a statement. “Making Struckd from Unity available on CrazyGames enables us to invite a new audience to build games directly in their web browser or bring it to the Unity editor if they choose to expand on their original idea.”
It also has an extensive asset library. Game creators can access a wide range of pre-made assets, including characters, environments, and props, to create unique gaming experiences. And games created on Struckd can be enjoyed on multiple devices, ensuring a seamless experience for players via cross-platform play.
Creators can share their games with the Struckd community, play games made by others, and collaborate on projects to enhance skills and creativity.
And Struckd creators can bring games directly to the Unity Editor with the game exporter. Struckd from Unity is now available on CrazyGames.com, offering creators and players an unparalleled opportunity to explore their creativity, develop their own games and share them.
Raf and Tomas Mertens, two brothers, founded CrazyGames in 2014 in Leuven, Belgium. Raf was a Stanford computer science student who started the project as a hobby after noticing a gap in the market for high-quality browser games that were easy to access. Tomas left the company in 2015 to work on other projects. The company has about 25 employees.
