It turns out when Glo rapped “this n**ga tryna get me pregnant, I need to tie my tubes,” she was serious.
GloRilla is riding the positive momentum from her recently released GLORIOUS album and making her rounds with interviews. She recently sat down with Charlamagne Tha God for his Out Of Context series, where the duo discussed the project, her signing to CMG, and even her thoughts about having her own kids one day.
The successful radio personality asked the Memphis rapper about a specific line in her song “PROCEDURE” featuring Latto: “This n**ga tryna get me pregnant, I need to tie my tubes.” She confirmed the bar was rooted in her real life experiences and divulged her thoughts about pregnancy.
“I do want to have kids, but not my own kids. I want to do a surrogate,” the “FNF” spitter revealed. “I want somebody else to have my baby. I want them to have my DNA, but I don’t want to have it.”
She elaborated on her reasoning, adding, “I just don’t want to actually have a baby… All my friends have kids, and they’re restricted a lot when they’re pregnant. I’m like, ‘Nah, I don’t want to go through that.” She seemed pretty firm in her stance, as when Charlamagne reminded her that pregnancies last only nine months, she replied, “That’s too long.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Glo also spoke about her decision to sign to Yo Gotti’s CMG label, which has been her home team since her career took off. She described how her other label meetings felt disingenuous, but Gotti’s team made her feel appreciated because they saw her potential.
“Gotti had hit me up and I was nervous and I was scared. But when I did link up with him, he was the one that was talking the most sensible. It was genuine,” Glo said. “Everybody else… they didn’t think I would make it past ‘FNF.’ And I would play ‘Tomorrow’ for them. They didn’t know ‘Tomorrow’ would be that big.”
GLORIOUS officially dropped on Oct. 11, 2024, and served as a follow-up to Ehhthang Ehhthang from earlier this year. The new project houses guest appearances from Latto, Sexyy Red, Muni Long, Kirk Franklin, Maverick City Music, Kierra Sheard, Chandler Moore, Megan Thee Stallion, BossMan Dlow, T-Pain, and Fridayy.
