Carrefour had pulled some PepsiCo products from shelves in January, citing ‘unacceptable’ price increases from the American drinks and snacks giant.
While inflation and the cost-of-living has been a global concern in recent months and years, it has been a particularly high-profile issue in France, which is Carrefour’s largest market and where it is headquartered (the country has even proposed a law to fight against ‘shrinkflation’).
Carrefour, which is one of the largest supermarket chains in the world with global net sales surpassing €90bn ($99bn) in 2022, stocks a range of PepsiCo brands including Pepsi, Lay’s, Quaker, Doritos and Rockstar.
The return of PepsiCo products to shelves was announced by Carrefour France executive director, Alexandre de Palmas (who, in the tweet below, says ‘It’s a pleasure to see our friends again after a long time’)

While neither company has commented on how the resolution was reached, a spokesperson from PepsiCo France told us: “We are pleased to have reached an agreement and are delighted that our products are returning to Carrefour’s shelves for people to enjoy once again.”
